The Noteworthy Edit #1
Sharing is caring, so every fortnight, I’m going to share everything I’ve been loving lately!

I recently watched Mae Martin’s special on Netflix (I adore Mae, if you haven’t watched Feel Good as well, then you absolutely should) and they have this bit about snow globes where they compare all of our experiences, likes and dislikes are like novelty snow globes we collect to put on display to form our identities, showcase our personalities, and so on.
That’s what I feel like this little edit is, just a small place for me to shout, “Here are things I like! I hope you like these things! I hope you like me for liking these things!’
As this lands in your inbox this morning, I will be being overcharged massively by RyanAir as I make my way to Dublin to celebrate my birthday! It’s on May 1st so you still have lots of time to send me love letters and flowers.
📖 READING (books/articles):
When I saw Chanté share Amy Key’s Arrangements in Blue: Notes on Love and Making a Life on her stories, I immediately knew that this book was about to become a major part of my personality. As a certified hopeless romantic, seeing that Amy had written an oeuvre to a life without romantic love to Joni Mitchell’s Blue album I was just like, inject it into my veins.
No stranger to heartbreak and as I am days away from my 35th birthday, I think often about my own loneliness, what it would mean for me not to have romantic love in my life anymore and if I could cope. It is a beautifully written and freeing book, I haven’t read anything this honest in a long time.
🎧 LISTENING:
As your resident sad girl, I knew as soon as boygenius were going to drop their debut album I was going to love it, so of course I haven’t stopped listening “the record” since it dropped. I have watched also watched every interview and live performance, and I am firmly in the boygenius algorithm of TikTok. Favourites so far: “Letters To An Old Poet,” “True Blue,” “Emily, I’m Sorry” and “Leonard Cohen.”
📽️ WATCHING:
I don’t think I will ever shut up about Succession, even after it ends so it feels almost pointless for me to mention it at all because I won’t be able to talk about it every single week soon! But by the time this newsletter drops, it’ll be Succession Sunday for the US, episode 5 of season 4 will be out by Sunday evening. I don’t know what it is about this toxic family that makes me feel all the feels, but this season has been incredible - the writing surpasses itself week on week and I don’t think I’ll be able to cope when it’s over.
I’ve had to avoid social media every Monday now since the final season started, but it’s worth it. I will also watch anything and everything Succession adjacent, like Kieran Culkin on Hot Ones. God, I love that man.
👗 WEARING:
I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect denim maxi skirt, one that doesn’t cost a fortune (I’m sorry £55-88 is actually absurd) and actually fits my hips. After scouring secondhand sites for months - eBay, Vinted, Depop and the like, I just wasn’t able to find anything in my size. I haven’t shopped on ASOS in a very long time but their denim midi skirt (which is a maxi on me) is perfection. It’s the right 90s mid wash blue with a front slit that isn’t too high but means you can walk freely!
And now, I need to use this moment to flex, so please oblige me briefly. I was on set in Paris last week for a shoot with a beauty brand that I am pretty sure I cannot yet name. But the one of the makeup artists told me that I had the best eyelashes she’d seen and asked me if I was wearing extensions. I sure am not, but when I can be bothered to curl them, I use the Suratt eyelash curlers (these are the most comfortable and perfect for my eye shape, which is somewhat almond) and I am always wearing Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes mascara or L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Lift mascara, which is a new find. I’m always after lengthening and separation rather than volume because I think it looks the most natural for me. Can’t recommend those enough, sometimes I layer the mascaras together for a little somethin’ somethin’.
